Amy has been busy, so I will update the blog for now. I figure this is like "doing the dishes" or "doing the laundry," if the woman lets the man do it once, she will never let him do it again.
My beautiful Michaela turns 10 today. She is having a Cooking Party with all her friends tonight. She is growing up too fast, she has a piano recital next week too. We are all excited.
Amy started a new job last week, she is working at the University book store a few days a week, I think she likes the mingling with adults for a few hours, it's a good release.
We will get some pics posted on the blog as soon as I download them of the party and the recital. I even got some of me an Michaela shooting Uncle Zack's guns over Thanksgiving break.
We hope all is going well for all of you over this Holiday season. Merry Christmas.

I just took my last final for this semester, and can I just say "Yeah!!"
I am looking forward to having time to update the blog from the last few weeks, so keep checking back.

Amy's sister Jessica was a sweetheart and took some family pictures of us while she was in Utah for Thanksgiving, from California. It has been a while since we have taken pictures together as a family, so check them out. Click here to see the pics, just scroll down until you see us. Thanks again Jess, it was a lot of fun, and you do a great job.

We have been working with Roscoe to get him to use his nice voice and ask for what he wants by using "please". This is a conversation that Mike and Roscoe had tonight.
Daddy: Roscoe, will you watch football with me tonight?
Roscoe: Um, no. Say "PLEASE"
Daddy: Roscoe, will you PLEASE watch football with me?
Roscoe: (with no hesitation) NO.
I couldn't stop laughing!

I set up a blog for the Book of Mormon Challenge. If you would like to be an author, so you can post on the blog, just let me know. I just need your email address. If you don't want to be an author you can still check up on the blog and see how everyone is doing or leave comments. The link is on the sidebar with the workout blog link.

Michaela and Abby both entered the PTA's Refelections Contest this year. The awards ceremony was tonight and they both received "a major award".
Michaela won 3rd place in the 4th grade visual arts and photograpy category. She got a trophy and $20. She took a photo of Farmington Valley from the trails above Lagoon, it was very beautiful.
Abby won 1st place in the 1st grade visual arts category. She got a trophy and $50! She painted a picture with acrylics of a butterfly, it was really cute.
Since they both placed high enough, their projects go to the region level to be judged.
We are so proud of them and how hard they worked to get their projects done (well actually how much they bugged me until I finally let them do it.)

While Becky and Harold and their kids were down Papa wanted to use his fire pit. We had fun making (and eating) s'mores.

The day after Halloween we decided to take the kids to Discovery Gateway, it was fun, but the kids were so cranky after the sugar rush from the night before.

The last couple of years we have used the Mr. Pumpkin Head kits instead of carving or painting pumpkins. I love it because I can poke the holes and the kids can put the parts in. It is so much faster and easier!

Uncle Zack and Aunt Shaunna grew pumpkins in their garden this year and the kids were very, very exctied when Zack brought them each a pumpkin a few weeks before Halloween.
Thank you Zack!

Mike was trying to find a good costume for Halloween, but he ended up not dressing up at all. He is really a spoil sport!

The kids talked me into decorating for Halloween the Monday before, so while we were getting some stuff put up Roscoe found this skeleton that I had hung up. He loved shaking its hand and even told me that it was his new friend.

Well we were up to 1 Nephi 22, but haven't been reading for the past few months. We decided to start over and give everyone else a challenge to read the BOM as a family with us. I will periodically post where we are at, so if you want to start with us you can, if you have already started let us know where you are starting, and see if you can get back to the same spot before we can finish. We are open to ideas on how to keep the kids interested and anything else you want to share!

Roscoe has been wearing his sunglasses and pretending to be a "super spy", so yesterday we had this conversation...
Roscoe- Where's my glasses?
Mom- Here you go super spy.
Roscoe- I am not a super spy, they are eye glasses! They protect my eyes so they don't fall out!
It was so funny, I don't know where he comes up with half the stuff he says!

Saturday afternoon we went to Lagoon for Frightmares. We had a lot of fun even though it was very busy and Michaela didn't get to go on any of the "big" rides.
Roscoe on the Kontiki, if you can't see it, he is holding the lap bar with his armpit so he can raise his arms like the girls.
Paula and Abby on the Kontiki, yes Abby is a little over-dramatic

Michaela had her first daddy daughter date for acheivement days last week! It was a costume party and from what I heard they both had a lot of fun. Michaela went as little red ridding hood, and Mike went as a super hero.
