Baby Blessing

We drove up to Pocatello today to see Matt bless baby Kaiya, and we love seeing Jen also. She is such a beautiful baby! We had so much fun seeing all of the family and can't wait until we can get together again.

Fun Times

Last weekend we were going to go for a hike, but it started raining so we decided to have some fun at Chuck E Cheese's. They just built a new one in Layton and it was sooooo busy, it was crazy. The kids really had fun, and they talked Mike into taking us to Krispie Kremes after (sucker!!).

Happy, Happy Birthday Grandma Dear!

Well it was my mom's Birthday yesterday so my dad took her out to a movie and dinner while Zack and Shaunna used the helium tank that my dad rented to blow up close to a hundred black balloons. They did an excellent job decorating, the only problem was that once everyone got there nobody had brought a camera!! I am going to try to go back over tonight and take some pictures. Zack made her a beautiful new coffee table for her living room, it was awesome!

Big Boy Bike

Roscoe got a new bike, kind of. It's really only half a bike. He was getting too big for the bike trailer and we found this bike on clearance, and Roscoe couldn't be happier. He did so good on it, we took a ride to Papa and Cheryl's house.

Whad I do?

How can you get mad at a face like this?

Human Pyramid

I was trying to teach the kids how to make a human pyramid last week, Michaela and Abby were the base and Roscoe and Paula were on top. Everytime I went to take their picture they fell, but Michaela and Abby kept trying, and Roscoe just likes to be in the middle of everything.

You've Had a Birthday!

Abby turned 7 a few weeks ago and we had a fun time with the family that came over. Her mom and dad bought her a new bike, and Abby even made her own cake (and as far as I know no one got sick).

Kaiya Diane Smith

We went up to see Matt, Jen and Kaiya when she was 10 days old, she was born on August 14. She is so beautiful, and was such a good baby, I didn't hear her cry once the whole day. The kids love the new "baby" cousin.

Waterfall Canyon

We took a hike up waterfall canyon in Ogden. It was the end of the summer so there wasn't any water in the stream until we got kind of far up the canyon, but it was really pretty. We are already making plans to go back in the early summer next year.

Sugar Babies!

Roscoe and Paula found an opened box of Sugar Babies, and went and hid in the closet to eat them. I found them a couple of minutes later and couldn't stop laughing!

Lorrin Farr Pool

Mike's first faculty party was the Friday before school started. We went to Lorrin Farr Pool in Ogden, which is where they filmed the pool scenes for the movie The Sandlot. It was a little cold, especially when the sun went down, but we had fun.

Fun with Jared and Serenity

While the Brunsons were visiting Jessica and myself took all the kids down to Discovery Gateway. We got all 6 kids (including 3 car seats, and one booster seat) in Grandma's SUV! The kids had so much fun that they keep asking when Jared and Serenity are going to come back to go to Discovery Gateway with them again.

Shoshone Falls and Park

While we were in Twin Falls in August we stopped by Shoshone Falls and then went to the park and played. Harold brought his metal detector so him and Mike looked for "treasure" on the shore of the lake. Then we took turns flying the parachute kite. We had so much fun with Becky and her family! We cant wait to see them again.

HI SPEED!

Well, after three different tries we finally have high speed internet!! (Mike is jumping for joy) I am going to try to catch up the blog with stuff we have done over the last few months, and I am hoping that I will be able to keep it current after that.

I Love to See the Temple!

While we were in Idaho for Grandma Smith's birthday we stopped by the open house for the Twin Falls Temple. It was so beautiful. The kids were all really good while we were going through the temple (I even spotted Roscoe walking reverently with his arms folded if you can imagine that).

Harland Clarke Summer Party

Mike's work party was Saturday in Magna. We had so much fun, it was the best summer party they have done. The kids had so much fun that they all threw fits when we had to leave. They had rented five giant inflatable toys (slides, bouncers, etc.), hired professional face painters, and a professional clown that made the coolest balloons ever! The kids also liked the snow cones and cotton candy! Unfortunately the batteries went dead in the camera so we only got a few pics.

Roscoe admiring his tiger face, we didn't get a pic of his balloon, but he had a super soaker gun

Hitting the trails

We took our first family hike on a real mountain trail. Usually we stick to the trails that are paved so we can take our stroller, but Mike was a trooper and carried Paula in the back pack so we could go on a real hike. We were going to hike to Green Pond (near SnowBasin), but didn't know you had to cross the highway from the parking lot to get there, so we ended up hiking the left fork of Wheeler trail, I think. It was a lot of fun and I think we hiked about 3 plus miles.

Roy Day's Parade

Michaela has been going to a summer singing camp this year, thanks to her Papa and Cheryl. Their first performance was on Saturday. They rode on a float in the Roy Day's Parade they were float number 86 (second to last), it was so hot!! Even with the heat we had fun watching the parade. Just don't get Mike started on how parades are so commercial now! After the parade they performed at North Park. They sang four songs; Baseball Fever, The Duel, Seize the Day (from Newsies), and You Can't Stop the Beat (from Hairspray). She did such a great job, and thank you to everyone who came to hear her sing.

Earning Her Keep

Mike has been teaching Michaela to use the lawn mower. Michaela mows while mike does the weed eater. She is doing such a good job!
